Composite items are not "Out of the Box" in Zoho, heres how you get them anyway

The video discusses the integration between Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory, and how composite items can be tracked in Zoho Inventory. Andrew explains that Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory automatically sync products, customers, sales orders, invoices, and payments. However, Zoho Books does not have the ability to track composite items, which are items made up of multiple parts. To enable the tracking of composite items, Andrew demonstrates how to go to "Settings" and "Preferences" in Zoho Inventory, and enable the "Composite Items" feature. Andrew mentions that this feature is helpful for tracking inventory levels, but from a bookkeeping standpoint, it may not be as helpful for matching purchase orders and bills of lading.

Using composite items in Zoho Books can be incredibly helpful for complex businesses. Composite items allow businesses to track inventory levels more accurately by breaking down items into their individual components. This makes it easier to match a purchase order to a bill of lading, ensuring that all of the items ordered have been received. Additionally, Zoho links the two softwares, Zoho Books and Zoho Inventory, so that composite items are automatically synced across both platforms. This makes it easier to keep track of inventory levels and to accurately match purchase orders.

Inventory systems are essential for businesses to effectively manage their stock, track sales, and ensure that they have the necessary items to meet customer needs. For businesses that use items made from other items, it is important to include these items as a baseline requirement for their inventory system. This will allow businesses to properly track the components and finished goods, allowing them to see the cost of production and how much inventory is available for sale. Additionally, it will be beneficial for businesses to have an accurate inventory system for these items as it will help them to better forecast demand and plan for future purchases. By tracking these items in their inventory system, businesses can ensure that they are always prepared to meet customer needs and provide a high-quality product.
